Rachel Tucker, John Owen-Jones, Melanie La Barrie and more join Into The Woods

  • Rachel Tucker, Melanie La Barrie, and John Owen-Jones join Into the Woods from next month.
  • Hughie O’Donnell will move from the Steward into the role of the Baker.
  • Jordan Fein’s revival has been nominated for 11 Olivier Awards, tying with Paddington the Musical for most Olivier nods.

Fresh from securing 11 Olivier Award nominations earlier this month, Into the Woods at the Bridge Theatre is set to welcome a wave of new cast members, with the latest additions joining the acclaimed production from 20 April.

WhatsOnStage Award winner Melanie La Barrie (Hadestown) will take on the role of the Witch, joined by John Owen-Jones (Les Misérables) as the Narrator/Mysterious Man and Rachel Tucker (Wicked) as the Baker’s Wife. Jack Quarton (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) plays the Steward, while Jodie Jacobs (Fiddler on the Roof) joins the company as a standby. Meanwhile, Hughie O’Donnell, who is currently appearing as the Steward, will move into the role of the Baker.

Remaining with the production are Jo Foster (Jack) and Oliver Savile (Cinderella’s Prince/Wolf), who both received Best Supporting Actor in a Musical Olivier Award nominations, as well as; Valda Aviks (Grandmother/Giant), Geoffrey Aymer (Cinderella’s Father), Bella Brown (Rapunzel), Chumisa Dornford-May (Cinderella), Jennifer Hepburn (Cinderella’s Stepmother), Hana Ichijo (Lucinda), Julie Jupp (Jack’s Mother), Gabrielle Lewis-Dodson (Florinda), Gracie McGonigal (Little Red Ridinghood), and Rhys Whitfield (Rapunzel’s Prince).  Standbys Taite-Elliot Drew, Jacob Fowler, Sophie Linder-Lee, and Chloe Saracco also continue.

Katie Brayben (Olivier Award nominee for Best Actress in a Musical) who currently plays the Baker’s Wife, Kate Fleetwood (Olivier Award nominee for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical) who currently plays the Witch, Michael Gould who currently plays the Narrator/Mysterious Man, and Jamie Parker (Olivier Award nominee for Best Actor in a Musical) who currently plays the Baker, will have their final performances on 18 April 2026. 

The creative team features set and costume designer Tom Scutt, musical supervisor and director Mark Aspinall, sound designer Adam Fisher, lighting designer Aideen Malone, video designer Roland Horvath, movement director Jenny Ogilvie, wigs, hair and make-up designer Sam Cox, and puppetry designers Cheryl ‘Chuck’ Brown, Max Humphries, and Tom Scutt.

Into the Woods plays at the Bridge Theatre until 30 May 2026.
