Paddington Bear

We’ve all grown up with Paddington, the polite, curious bear from Peru who loves marmalade and wears a distinctive blue coat and red hat, which makes this show even more special. Seeing him brought to life before our eyes heightens the nostalgia and emotional impact. The lovable star of the show embarks on an adventure where he learns to navigate sticky situations using his kindness and optimism.

Mrs Brown

The kind and nurturing mother and wife in the Brown household, Mrs. Brown is patient, understanding, and compassionate, making her a vital part of Paddington’s journey. She shows him kindness and warmth while helping him adapt to life with the family. She is dedicated not only to her family but also to her work as an illustrator, where she showcases her talent for drawing.

Mr Brown

Married to Mrs. Brown and father of Jonathan and Judy, Mr. Brown is often cautious, practical, and a bit sceptical, yet he is also good-hearted, loyal, and caring toward his family and Paddington. Initially apprehensive about inviting a bear into his home and constantly weighing the risks, he learns to take chances, discovers that a little spontaneity never hurts anyone, and reconnects with what is truly important.

Mrs Bird

Mrs. Bird works in the Brown household as the housekeeper. Stern yet secretly big-hearted, she is observant, wise, and often the voice of reason in the household. Patient and tolerant, especially with Paddington’s mischievous antics, she provides the Browns with practicality and a grounding presence.

Millicent Clyde

The villainous Millicent Clyde is ambitious, ruthless, and manipulative, driven by her determination to complete the work her explorer father began by capturing Paddington and seeking vengeance. Obsessive in creating schemes, she performs “Pretty Little Dead Things,” a theatrical and chilling number that highlights her menacing personality and instils fear in everyone around her.

Mr Gruber

Mr. Gruber is the kind, elderly friend of Paddington who owns an antique shop on Portobello Road. Gentle, wise, and knowledgeable, he is patient and understanding, often offering guidance and advice to Paddington. He provides practical help, using his knowledge and experience to assist Paddington on his adventures.

Mr Curry

Mr. Curry is the Browns’ neighbour. Overly cautious, he constantly meddles and describes himself as a watchful neighbour. Nosy and pedantic, he keeps a close eye on the family, and his mean-spirited nature makes him hostile toward Paddington.

Tanya

Another neighbour of the Browns, in complete contrast to Mr. Curry, is Tanya. Friendly, warm, and approachable, she is supportive and sociable, often interacting positively with the Browns and Paddington. Created specifically for the musical and not appearing in the film version, she is the mother of Tony.

Jonathan

Jonathan Brown is the younger child of Mr. and Mrs. Brown, who warmly welcomes Paddington into their home. He is curious, kind, and supportive, always eager to help Paddington and share in his adventures.

Judy

Judy Brown, Jonathan’s older and wiser sister. While not as imaginative and curious as her younger brother, she has an innate sense of protectiveness and confidence, always looking out for her family and for Paddington.

The musical has extended into February 2027, with sold-out shows running into 2026. Book now to avoid disappointment and join the adventure!
